TEHRAN -- The documents published by the WikiLeaks website is distorted, said Mohammad-Javad Larijani, secretary general of the High Council for Human Rights at the Judiciary.

This website is affiliated with the United States, Larijani told the Tehran conference on human rights in the U.S. on Monday.
WikiLeaks has recently published documents which shows “compelling evidence of war crimes” committed by forces of the U.S.-led coalition and the Iraqi government. According to the documents, the U.S. troops did nothing to stop the abuse by Iraqi forces.
WikiLeaks is an international organization that publishes anonymous submissions and leaks of otherwise unavailable documents while preserving the anonymity of sources.
Larijani added that the website is attempting to clear U.S. troops of charges rather than revealing the truth about the Iraq war.
The U.S. itself has violated human rights repeatedly, an abuse which extends beyond a war time period, Larijani noted, adding many of these violations have taken place inside the U.S. territory.
He also said that Iran will bring about the cases of tortures inflicted by U.S. troops on the jailed inmates in Iraq and Afghanistan as well as the U.S. involvement in the terrorist attacks in the Universal Periodic Review of the UN Human Rights (UPR).
UPR is a new and unique human rights mechanism of the United Nations (UN) Human Rights Council aiming at improving the human rights situation of each of the 192 UN Member States.
